Description

The proposed Water Supply System Upgrade will include the installation of two water distribution pumps operating in a duty/standby arrangement. The existing submersible well pump will transfer water from the well to two storage tanks located within the Well No. 2 area. From these storage tanks, the new pumping system will distribute water to the designated campus areas.
The two distribution pumps will be configured so that one pump operates as the duty pump while the second remains on standby. The system will be designed to operate automatically, with the standby pump available to operate in the event of failure, maintenance, or other operational requirements affecting the duty pump. The automatic control system will regulate the operation of the pumps and maintain a reliable water supply to the connected areas.
The project will also include the installation of water meters on selected supply lines to measure water consumption in specific areas. The metering system will allow AUK to monitor water usage, identify unusual or excessive consumption, improve water management, and support future maintenance and operational decisions.
